About Us

A Thoughtful, Supportive Approach to Reading

I work with children who find reading more challenging than it should be—and with the families who support them. My goal is to help reading make sense, one step at a time, using instruction that aligns with how the brain learns to read. Families also receive guidance and support so they can feel confident helping their children at home.

Why I Do This Work

I work with children who are capable, curious, and trying their best—but for whom reading hasn’t come easily. Many of these students have worked hard without seeing the progress they deserve, which can be frustrating for both children and their families.

My approach is grounded in clear, structured reading instruction that follows the science of reading. Skills are taught explicitly, in a logical sequence, and practiced in ways that build understanding rather than reliance on guessing or memorization.

Families are an important part of this process, and I believe parents deserve clarity, guidance, and support along the way.

I hold a degree in elementary education and homeschooled my own struggling readers for more than twenty years.
My passion in teaching people how to read, especially with those who struggle.
I have worked with Adults and children of all ages.
